Mrs. Lois Shaw

February 9, 1930 - February 12, 2013

February 9, 1930 - February 12, 2013 NORMAN Lois Aline Shaw, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, entered into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Lois was born in Oklahoma City February 9, 1930 to Luther and Leola Cheek. Growing up in Oklahoma City, she was a proud member of the Central High School Black Skirts. She married Charles Ray Shaw on Feb. 14, 1948, and they were blessed with three children. After the family moved to Norman, Lois worked at American Exchange Bank before becoming a Norman High School Tiger, where she worked for over twenty years until retirement. Lois loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and learning something new. Always a good and faithful servant, she volunteered countless hours for her church, Friendship International, and the Cleveland County Election Board. Baking, cleaning, teaching, and comforting are but a few of the assignments she gladly accepted over the years. Lois was an eclectic cook trying new recipes called "Lois Delights" by her family. Her chocolate cake, fried chicken, and potato salad were beyond compare. Lois is survived by Ray, her husband of 65 years; children Judy Shaw, Karen Bradford (Robert), and Charles (Mary Anne Hempe); granddaughter Cassady Shaw (Bucky Maennena); step-granddaughter Jennifer Kyle Mackey (Dave); great grandchildren Tyrnyn Maennena, Kristina and Reagan Retherford; and many other loving family members and friends. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, February 18, at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Norman. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to World Neighbors or the charity of your choice.
